Dear students,
So now another week has passed and I hope that you in the teams have enjoyed the exercise on brand identity, digital presentations and giving feedback and have improved skills for the exams.
Your examination part 1:
Let me then follow up directly at this point with an information about the exam, part 1: A drop box for your concept paper submission on 10/29 is now unlocked in Moodle. It is sufficient if one team member uploads the file there. However, please make sure that the basic information of all students is visible on the concept paper.
Trends and your trend scout input:
It is valuable to see the examples you have already uploaded as 'Trend Scouts'. It is still open to participate, the more the better. We will continue to work on this in the next live session.
Skill Cube Creativity
This week there will also be another content input. Here we turn to the skill cube creativity. "Hence, creativity is a learned skill that enables us to define new relationships between concepts or events, which seemed actually isolated before, and which results in a new entity of knowledge" (Timbadia, Khavekar, 2016, p. 83).
Creativity can also be seen as a process and therefore it comes down to using different techniques. In moodle you can find two sources:
- Barrett (1978): an older source, because it is worth looking back in time and reviewing where the roots of creativity techniques are.
- Timbadia and Khavekar (2016): In addition, a more current source with a colorful cross-section of techniques that can be drawn upon for creativity. (this is also where the quote comes from)
I would then like to use this input to get creative and apply association techniques with you in the synchronous seminar on Nov. 5.
Our next synchronized seminar (Nov. 5, 2021)
So, what can you expect on that day: The seminar is titled "Connecting Brands to Trends" and we will also have company representatives from Atlas Copco and Shiseido digital on this date.
All content is now already in Moodle and no additional documents/tasks will follow before the date.
Summarizing your preparation:
Let me close this post with a brief summary of the preparation for Nov. 5. Please remember to complete the following two tasks:
1. You already started to think in your project cases in exam part 1. This might have triggered already further questions to the project partners. So, last week I opened a Miro Board for collecting your questions to the project partners. (NEW! Q&A Session Atlas Copco & Shiseido). In order to make it sufficient it would be a good way to share this already upfront with the project partners. Therefore, please drop your questions to the Miro board by October 29.
2. Read up on creativity techniques (see the two sources in skill cube Creativity)
(For those who have not done it yet, please add as well trend scout examples, see section trends)
I wish you good luck in completing your exam part 1.
Have a great weekend,
Simone Roth
